Pam Roberts - Phoenix Co-ordinator
Pam joined Clwyd Fire Service on the Youth Training Scheme (YTS) in 1988 and was then taken on full time as Receptionist / Administrative Assistant in 1989. She then went on to be the Administrator for the Training Department and after six years was given the opportunity to join the Community Fire Safety Team.
Following successful completion of the Supervisory Managers promotion process, she took up the post of Watch Manager in the Community Safety Team and then in the Fire Safety Legislation department.
In 2011 Pam joined Colwyn Bay Fire Station as a Firefighter before taking on her current role as Phoenix Coordinator.
Gillian Roberts - Assistant Phoenix Co-ordinator
Gillian's career has been in administration until deciding to complete a teacher training course which led her to joining North Wales Fire and Rescue Service in 2006. She initially worked within the Community Fire Safety department delivering fire safety in the workplace and schools throughout North Wales; she was then appointed Assistant Phoenix Coordinator in June 2009.
Born and brought up in North Wales, Gill lives in the Conwy Valley. Gill is a huge animal and nature lover, with ambitions of travelling far afield to encounter wild life such as the Polar Bear on the Artic Tundra, the Orangutans in Borneo, and the migration across the Serengeti. She is also a keen scuba diver, but only tropical seas!
Gerallt Hughes, Phoenix Instructor
Gerallt lives in Porthmadog. He joined North Wales Fire and Rescue Service full time in May 2005 as a Community Fire Safety Practitioner carrying out free home safety checks in the South Gwynedd area. In 2006 he gained his first experience as an assistant on a phoenix course based in Dolgellau, helping out the team over the next seven years when they needed assistance in South Gwynedd or even further afield across the service.
Gerallt gained a temporary promotion within the Community Safety Department in 2009, before taking up the role of a Home Safety Support Worker in 2011. He took up the role of full time Phoenix Assistant in 2012.
He is married with two children and is hoping to complete the 15 peaks challenge in Snowdonia and a triathlon sometime in the future.
Elenid Roberts - Phoenix Administrator
Elenid lives in Llangwm near Cerrig-y-Drudion, and is a fluent welsh speaker. She graduated Bangor University with a Bachelor degree in Sociology and Social Policy before joining the North Wales Fire & Rescue Service in the summer of 2017 as the Phoenix Administrator.
She would very much like to further her career within the Fire and Rescue Service over the years to come.
In her spare time, she enjoys playing the piano, going for walks in the countryside and spending time with family, and friends.
Brian Drawbridge - Phoenix Assistant
Brian lives in Conwy having moved to the area at the age of 11. He joined the Phoenix team in September 2017. Brian joined North Wales Fire And Rescue Service in January 2010 as a Retained Duty System (RDS) firefighter at Conwy fire station and still continues his operational duties alongside his role as Phoenix Assistant.
Before joining the Fire and Rescue Service Brian was a driving instructor and ran his own driving school for 10 years.
Outside of work he enjoys motor sport, both taking part and attending and also family time.
