Launch of public consultation on continuing to prevent and respond to fires and other emergencies

Posted

North Wales Fire and Rescue Authority is encouraging people to take part in a consultation on its Community Risk Management Implementation Plan for 2025-26.

This is the second annual plan containing objectives that will continue to deliver against the 2024-29 Community Risk Management Plan (CRMP).

Chief Fire Officer Dawn Docx said: “One of the key objectives for fire and rescue services in Wales is to continually and sustainably reduce risk and enhance the safety of citizens and communities.

“A Community Risk Management Plan (CRMP) aims to identify risks facing the community and describes how the Fire and Rescue Authority will manage those risks, and continue to prevent and respond to fires and other emergencies.

“In July 2024 we published our five-year CRMP following public consultation and our 2024-25 Implementation Plan, which contained improvement and well-being objectives to enable us to deliver against our long-term objectives. Both of these plans can be accessed here.

“We now want our communities to take part in a consultation on the Community Risk Management Implementation Plan for 2025-26.

“This consultation is important to everyone in North Wales and so listening to your views is important to us.

“We want to know if you think we have identified the most appropriate risks and whether our plans and objectives will meet the aims of our five principles.”

Councillor Dylan Rees, Chair of the Fire and Rescue Authority, said: “Feedback from those who live, work and visit our region is really important - we want to know what you think about our plans before we as a Fire and Rescue Authority makes any final decisions.

“So please take the time to complete the consultation questionnaire.

“The more people get involved, the better informed we can be so that we can ensure we continue to keep our communities as safe as possible.”

The consultation opens on 21 October 2024 and closes at midnight on 16 December 2024.
