Update re: Factory fire on Denbigh Road, Mold
PostedThe multi-agency response to the factory fire on Denbigh Road, Mold is continuing.
Firefighters remain at the scene damping down at the factory fire on Denbigh Road, Mold, and it is thought they will continue operations overnight.
Mike Plant from North Wales Fire and Rescue Service said:
“Due to the ongoing firefighting control measures continuing onsite, Public Health Wales have advised that keeping windows and doors closed is no longer required.
“Natural Resources Wales’ officers remain on site as part of the on-going operation and will continue to monitor the local water courses and take any necessary action to mitigate any impacts.
“As a precaution, they are asking people not to go near the River Alyn and to also keep animals away from the water. People are also asked to keep away from the cordoned area as firefighting continues on site.”
Natural Resources Wales, Public Health Wales and Flintshire County Council Officers will continue to support the emergency services by providing advice to help minimise the impact on the community and environment.
North Wales Police and North Wales Fire and Rescue Service are assisting the Health and Safety Executive with their investigation.
The roads surrounding the site will remain closed for at least another 24hours.
