Incident involving train near Wrexham
PostedWe were called to an incident near Wrexham involving a train this morning at 6.43 hours.
Four appliances from Wrexham and Deeside were mobilised together with one appliance from Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service.
Crews are working at the scene on a multi-agency basis with partners from North Wales Police, Network Rail, Transport for Wales, Welsh Ambulance Service and British Transport Police.
There are no reported injuries, and passengers are being cared for by Network Rail and Transport Wales, with arrangements made to escort them from the affected area so they can continue their onward journey.
Firefighters tackled a fire in the undercarriage of one of the train's carriages, using four sets of breathing apparatus and three hose reel jets to bring it under control.
The A483 nearby (northbound at Junction 5 near the B&Q roundabout) was closed for a period, and one lane is now open - people are being asked to travel with care.
