Woman dies following fire in her Abergele home
PostedThe woman rescued from a fire in her Abergele home yesterday afternoon has sadly died.
Crews from Abergele and Colwyn Bay were called to a property at Gorwel, Abergele at 15.56hrs yesterday, Tuesday 14th April.
The woman was rescued from the property by police officers who were in the area and arrived quickly at the scene. She was transferred to hospital, but sadly she later died.
Firefighters used four sets of breathing apparatus, two hose reels and thermal imaging cameras to tackle the fire which caused severe fire and smoke damage to the lounge area and smoke damage to other rooms in the one storey property.
Stuart Millington from North Wales Fire and Rescue Service, said: “Our deepest sympathies go to the family and friends of this lady during this sad time.
“The cause of the fire is under investigation in conjunction with North Wales Police - our appeal to everyone is to take extra care in regards to their safety in the home.”
