Fire in Blanaeu Ffestiniog
PostedA man has been taken to hospital following a fire at a house in Blaenau Ffestiniog this morning (Monday, May 18).
At 2.43am North Wales Fire and Rescue Service received a report of a fire in the attic of a property of a house on the High Street.
Crews from Blaenau Ffestiniog and Porthmadog attended the blaze. The female occupant of the property was alerted to the fire by a smoke detector and made her own way of the house to safety. She was treated by the Ambulance Service at the scene. Firefighters using breathing apparatus and hose reel jet entered the house and located the male occupant in the second floor attic. He was then taken to hospital by ambulance.
The fire was brought under control at 3.23am and members of North Wales Fire and Rescue Service remain at the scene.
The cause of the fire is under investigating and there are no further details at present.
