Poultry shed fire at Marford, Wrexham
PostedFirefighters were called to tackle a fire in a poultry shed at Marford at 19.34hrs last night, Wednesday May 28.
Three crews from Wrexham, a crew from Johnstown, the Aerial Ladder Platform from Wrexham and the Incident Command Unit from Rhyl attended the scene to tackle the fire using breathing apparatus, hose reels and a main jet.
The fire caused 100% fire damage to the shed and the 24, 000 chicks housed inside sadly perished.
One male received burns to his face and arms and was transferred to hospital by ambulance for treatment.
An investigation into the cause of the
fire is underway.
