Severe Weather Warning
PostedAs a result of the 'Red' severe warnings that are in place across North Wales, a multi-agency response has begun involving all the emergency services, the local authorities and other partners.
High winds are expected from Barmouth up to and including the coastal areas across Anglesey and as far as Conwy and Denbighshire.
Travel disruption should be expected and people are advised to check trains and buses. Schools will be taking decisions regarding any necessary closures and parents are being asked to check locally.
At present both bridges across to Anglesey remain open, but wind speeds are being constantly monitored. All trunk roads are currently flowing as normal, but some minor roads may be impassable.
Chief Inspector Darren Wareing said: "We are asking people to be careful and to consider whether their journey is absolutely necessary."
"If anyone has any concerns, in an emergency call 999 and appropriate resources will be deployed."
